With great joy the engagement of Kazimir Highdoor and Agnessa Ironbore was celebrated.
Though the high spirits were dampened a bit with the news of the death of the Traugott farm. A detachment of the towns very finest were sent to investigate, and it was found that trolls had done the deed then wandered off. Nearby farms were warned.
Enea bribed her way to become leader of the settlement, and managed it with a minority of the votes. But since a few people in the council were indisposed, her fiendish plan worked.
Thorgrim took his righteous place as the Master of Coins
Harald who had been bribed got the office as Master of Arms as his reward. Rumors started all around the settlement about what else Enea might have bribed Harald with…
The very next day our party of mostly well liked heroes charged forth into the unknown, or rather the well known. As the path they now took was well trodden. Walking towards the Cave, which was their final destination, a crushed deer was found. With all probability it was a big snake like creature of some kind.
When reaching the cave a pair of odd humanoid creatures were seen standing up by the cave entrance, advancing upon them one ran into the cave. Getting even closer the second one threw a javelin at our stout dwarf Thorgrim, but the puny thing just bounced off. In return he shot the creature dead, laughably easy, with a well aimed bolt.
The creature was found to have similar traits with a lizard and was for that called a lizardman.
Going into the cave, the tracks of the first lizardman was found to enter the river. Following the river the party found a the branching passage leading towards the well with a boulder upon. From the river a path of wet tracks were leading into the passage. The party followed in a ways and when they saw light up ahead, the only lit torch was placed standing here.
Getting close to the waterfilled cave with the stone pillars, two lizardmen were found, with a couple of bonfires burning.
Charging into the cave some more lizardmen were found trying to ambush the party to no success. A large lizardman also charged into the cave, but from the other direction, from the small chamber with a bed.
Well into the fight our courageous dwarf marksman, who has excellent hearing, managed to not hear enemy reinforcements running up from behind. He also, being a expert in caves and the surprises they may hide and be ready for them, managed to miss the shadows of the approaching reinforcements who had a burning torch behind them. The four new foes did their best to beat down our apparently unsuspecting dwarf, but just managed some smaller scratches.
The brave dwarf who now managed to notice them decided to tactically retreat into the cave for a clearer shot. In there all the minor foes were beaten down. And everyone was happy to find a new obstacle to beat. Except James who, with a pretty bad wound, ran straight into the reinforcements and was bravely beaten down.
With everyone safeish the group went back to town.
